Guaymas Sunrise, Mexico

Guaymas sunrise

The full day ferry trip from Guaymas to Santa Rosalia, Baja California  wasn't a particular highlight of the trip.  The early start however, which afforded the above sunrise was a just reward.

Advise : don't choose to drink eight tequilas straight before spending the day on a boat.

Baja desert
I have heard of desert flowers before and the beauty of the desert.  I believe that beauty can be found in even the ugliest things and therefore assumed that the desert couldn't really be that interesting.

I could not have been more wrong.  The winter Baja desert was breathtaking.  The thousands of colourful flowers, sciencefictional cactii and upshots of rocky mountains was unbelievable.  Naturally this is when our camera battery went flat and so we could not capture these remarkable scenes.  I'm sorry that you cant share
the beauty.

Whale Watching, Baja California, Mexico

Whale watching

Sea Lions, Baja California, Mexico

From Guerrero negro on the West Coast of Baja California we went whale watching.  There are about 1100 whales in a small inlet.  The water in only about 2 meters and deep and the whales swim up to and around to boat, they even swim under the boat.  We certainly didn't have a shortage of whales to watch..

It is possible to actually go swimming with the whales which we had planned to do.  However it was too cold that day.

We also saw sea lions
