Punta Sayalita, Mexico

A view of Sayalita
(taken from our window )

Punta Sayalita, just north of Puerto Vallarta on the West Coast of Mexico is located in the State of Nayarit.  Sayalita is a true tropical paradise.  The quiet beaches and perfect sunsets were breathtaking.

We spent three nights in Sayalita.  Most of our time was spent relaxing or fishing.  The boys tried to fish from their sea kayaks. This provided a fun pastime for onlookers as we saw a few hilarious  wipeouts.  Unfortunately however, after all of Andrew's efforts only a few toad-like fish were caught.

The Rock House
We were fortunate enough to stay in a fantastic house which overlooked the Ocean.  The house was constructed amongst the rocks of a cliff face.  It was an open dwelling which was free of glass windows.  This allowed the sea breeze to waft through the house.

Watching the sun set from our hammocks which were hung on the open roof of the house was incredible.  I will never forget that house.  If I had the money I would buy it.

Andrew at Punta Mita

We traveled to Punta Mita by boat.  The journey was very bumpy and rough but it was great fun.  We spent the day sea kayaking.  The kayaking however became a little dangerous due to the sharp rocks just under the surface of the shallow water.  The rocks ofcourse only became apparent after a wipeout.
